Bliss Balls

This is a very easy and versatile recipe. You can adapt the flavouring to suit your taste.

  • 1 cup shelled pecan nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts or cashew nuts are also fine)
  • 1 cup raisins, soaked briefly in a little hot water
  • 1/2 cup of dates or 1 tablespoon of lucuma powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons desiccated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch of salt to enhance the flavours
  • Desiccated coconut (or other) for coating

Blend everything (except the coconut for coating) in a food processor.

Shape into balls and roll them in desiccated coconut, or finely chopped hazelnuts and pistachios, or finely chopped candied peel. If you dampen your hands, you’ll find it easier to shape the balls.

Chill in the fridge for about three hours before serving.
