Move into the world of slow cooking

We’re thoroughly tired of the greys and browns of winter; for summer we want above all things colour! Lots of it! And Kuhn Rikon’s new HOTPAN in a powerful shade of petrol will go some way to satisfying these aspirations. It will light up your kitchen and it’s already gained an iF design award. You can use these new saucepans to cook your favourite food – it’s healthy, fast and energy-saving. And somehow it brings your next beach holiday that much closer.

HOTPAN is a saucepan that cooks food almost on its own and sets completely new standards. The colour is daring and fascinating simultaneously, but even more impressive is the clever combination of cooking pot and insulated container.

The food is heated for just a few minutes in the stainless steel pot in very little water, the pot is then taken off the heat and the food finishes cooking in the insulated Melamine bowl. No more energy is needed. Gentle cooking in this style preserves vitamins and minerals. With very little effort, you save up to 60 percent of the energy you’d normally use – saving you money and protecting the environment. The insulating space between the cooking pot and the bowl helps to keep the food hot for up to two hours, without getting it overcooked. Meat becomes wonderfully tender, vegetables keep their fresh flavour, rice doesn’t burn. The pot comes with a table of cooking times as a reliable guide to getting each dish just right.

Together the two HOTPAN components make up the slow cooker, but you can also use them separately. The stainless steel pot is suitable for all types of hob and all cooking methods. It has a double-walled lid and a Superthermic® sandwich base to ensure the heat is evenly distributed. The Melamine bowl has a lot of uses too, for example, as a salad bowl. It’s dishwasher safe and goes into the fridge with no problems. If you need more ideas for cooking, there’s a HOTPAN cookbook with 94 delicious recipes for everything from Asian chicken soup to dark chocolate cream pudding.

Kuhn Rikon HOTPANs are available in 5 sizes from 1.0 to 5.0 litres including the Melamine bowls.

The limited HOTPAN collection in petrol is available from June 2015 in selected kitchenware outlets and online in the Kuhn Rikon webshop www.kuhnrikon.com.
