SCHOCK’s Mono D-100 kitchen sink wins
red dot design award

The Mono D-100 kitchen sink designed and manufactured by German ceramics company SCHOCK has won the prestigious red dot design award in the Product Design category. Besides looking great, the sink scores particularly highly on functionality. The Mono D-100 boasts a harmonious combination of the tough, easy-care, hygienic CRISTADUR® material that looks and feels fabulous and a classic design that is perfect in form. The Mono D-100 has a large, deep bowl making it easy to wash even the bigger pots and pans. The long tap-hole platform can be equipped with up to five holes, offering plenty of space for a control knob for the pop-up waste, a soap dispenser and more in addition to the tap itself. An LED light can be fitted into the sink as an optional extra, ensuring not only excellent light for doing the washing up but also providing an optical highlight in the sink area.

Continuous investment in research and development over many years has enabled this medium-sized German company to steadily expand its position and enhance its reputation as a reliable and innovative manufacturer and supplier in the international market place. “We develop sinks and taps for people who value good design, quality, durability and style. Product design is very high on our agenda and we are committed to systematic further development of our manufacturing processes and materials. In this way, we can be sure that design and functionality meet the highest standards and we can systematically expand our innovation and technology leadership – to the benefit of our customers,” comments Sven-Michael Funck, Export und Marketing Manager at SCHOCK.

The red dot design award is one of the best known international design competitions. The products, which are judged by an expert jury of well-known designers and design experts from around the world, need to meet the highest standards of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, durability, symbolic and emotional content, product peripherals, clarity of function and environmental compatibility.

SCHOCK invented the processes used to make granite sinks and for over 30 years has been one of the leading manufacturers. Apart from the sinks it sells under its own brand, the company supplies leading kitchen furniture and steel sink manufacturers with its OEM products. Today, around 75% of the roughly 2 million sinks produced each year are manufactured using processes developed by SCHOCK.

Customers in over 70 countries put their trust in SCHOCK products. The SCHOCK range features sinks and taps for every taste and every kitchen style – contemporary, traditional or country. SCHOCK puts a premium on the quality and durability of its products and the quality and sustainability of its production processes.
